In a hotel interior, lighting should rarely be loud. It must be present, but unobtrusive, in the service of the space, architecture, and guest experience. This is where hotel shades play a key role. They define the character of the light, its softness, warmth, and relationship to the space. Without good shade, even the highest quality lighting fixture cannot give its full effect.
In the design of the Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna hotel, the blinds were conceived as a discreet but crucial element. In the Edvard restaurant, small white blinds were used, custom-made, which respect the classical architecture of the space, but fit into the contemporary hotel context. Their role is not to attract attention, but to create a pleasant, even light that follows the rhythm of the space and leaves the guest with a feeling of peace.

Restaurants inside hotels require special attention. The light must be intimate enough, but also functional. Hotel blinds in such spaces must control glare, soften the light source, and maintain the visual purity of the interior. In the Edvard restaurant, the blinds are designed not to dominate the wall, but to complement it. The white color, proper proportion,s and high-quality textiles allow for a warm atmosphere without losing elegance.

In hotel rooms, lighting plays an even more intimate role. Hotel shades here define the evening atmosphere, the feeling of privacy and comfort. Table lamps with custom-made shades give the guest a sense of home, but maintain the hotel’s neatness and standard. In this project, the focus was on soft, diffused light, without harsh contrasts and visual fatigue.
Good blinds are not decoration. They are a functional tool that makes a space comfortable, quiet, and of high quality in the long run. In high-class hotels, it is precisely such details that are remembered, even though the guest often does not know how to name them.
