One of Corda Lighting’s latest projects was the creation of special ceiling lamps for the 200-year-old, renowned Austrian Hotel Post, located in the beautiful Austrian town of Velden am Wörthersee.
This task was not just a technical lighting solution, but a true collaboration in the spirit of impeccable execution and adaptation to the client’s needs, which has always been the backbone of our work.
For this project, Salon Amber pendant lamps were developed, customized to perfectly fit into the elegant and sophisticated interior of the hotel. The main material used for the lampshades was Turda fabric with a transparent PVC backing, known for its texture and resistance, which further emphasized the atmosphere of warmth and sophistication in the hotel space.
The dimensions of the lamps varied according to the needs of the space, from smaller models (400×200 mm, height 400 mm) to larger, striking elements of as much as 1000×550 mm, height 350 mm. All models are equipped with E27 sockets, and the light is dispersed through a diffuser made of 3 mm-thick opal PMMA (plexiglass), achieving a soft, pleasant lighting effect, ideal for hotel restaurants and lounges.
On the technical side, the lamps meet the IP20 protection standard, which is suitable for indoor spaces without special requirements for resistance to moisture or dust. All lamps have a two-year warranty, confirming our commitment to product quality and durability. The partner on this project was Handwork Polstermöbelmanufaktur from Austria, and the production itself required precision and the hand of a craftsman, so that every detail followed the vision of the hotel design.
As we look at the photos of the finished lamps, with their discreetly warm glow spilling over the airy interior of Hotel Post, we can’t help but feel proud to have been a part of this project. Each lamp is not just a light fixture, but a contribution to the overall atmosphere of the space – the kind of atmosphere that stays with guests.
